“One of the things that I think a lot of our patients say is ‘my infection’ and that is a really important thing for all of us to work to replace in our vocabulary, patients’ vocabulary, and other providers’ vocabulary. This [HS] is not infection. That “I” word needs to be replaced with a different one…’Inflammation.’ This is an inflammatory disease.”
