SDPA Fall 2018 - Live Blog

SDPA Fall 2018 | Live Blog | Male Ano-genital

On the first day of the 16th Annual Fall Dermatology Conference, Dr. Joseph English from the University of Pittsburgh, presented a clinically relevant lecture on Male Anogenital Skin Disease. He started his lecture with a few clinical pearls: “not all male anogenital (MAG) disease is sexually related”, “if you look at the front you need to look at the back”, “uncircumscribed foreskin needs to be retracted during exam”, and “MAG can be a marker of systemic disease”.

In addition, Dr. English presented a helpful pathognomonic for developing a differential diagnosis for MAG: FAINTPB. This stands for fixed drug/drug reactions, allergic/irritant dermatitis, infection, neoplastic disease, traumatic findings, psoriasiform, and balanitis.

Dr. English presented skin diseases in each of the categories in the differential diagnosis with key diagnostic and treatment points.

At the conclusion of his lecture, Dr. English hosted a Q & A for attendees in the Mingle Zone.
